Since the Strasbourg Convention EDINNA has become a new stakeholder in the IWT sector. EDINNA has given itself a very ambitious working programme: (link to table) Besides dealing with organisational matters of the association itself, a strong focus lies on the aim of harmonising European inland navigation education and training also by looking closer at the use of training equipment and simulators. The educational network wants to focus on Exchange Programmes as well as the use of communication and language in the Inland Waterway Transport Sector.EDINNA has - amongst others - participated-in the following activities: |

EDINNA gave a presentation at the Sectoral Social Dialogue for Inland Navigation on possible “Standards of Training and Certification in Inland Navigation” (STCIN) and explained their initiatives at the Section Meeting of the European Transport Workers Federation (ETF). |

EDINNA was invited to the stakeholder meetings during the hearing to the Impact Assessment studies done by the European Commission on the recognition of boatmaster certificates as well as manning requirements. |

CCNR

EDINNA has participated at the CCNR Round Table dealing with “Language and Communication in IWT” in February 2009. |

UNECE

||
EDINNA has been requested to participate at the UNECE technical working group on safety and navigation requirements in June 2009.. |
